Front stairs are the first thing every visitor uses. They also work harder than people realize: snow load, salt, rain runoff, kids, deliveries, occasional contractors carrying awkward things. A well-built stairway makes the whole entrance feel intentional; a tired one makes the whole house feel tired.
We design and build custom stairways in formed concrete, natural stone, manufactured stone veneer, paver treads, and combinations. Most of our jobs are exterior - front porches, side entries, garden-to-patio transitions, walk-out basements - but we also do interior structural concrete steps where required.
Design conversations usually cover three things. First, materials: full concrete is the most durable and lowest-maintenance option; stone veneer on a concrete core gives the look of solid stone for less money and weight; pavers let you match an adjacent driveway. Second, geometry: tread depth, riser height, landing size, and whether the run benefits from a curve or a bullnose to soften the lines. Third, the railing and lighting plan - we set anchors and conduit during the pour so the finished result is clean.
