Artificial grass earned a reputation in the early years that it has mostly outgrown. The current generation looks convincingly natural up close, drains rain better than sod, never browns out, and - most importantly for Lower Mainland homeowners - does not need watering, fertilizing, mowing, or weekly maintenance. For shady side yards where grass refuses to grow, for dog runs, and for second-floor decks, it is often the only thing that actually works.
A good install is mostly the base. We strip the existing surface, install a perimeter edge, lay and compact a drainage base (typically 75mm of decomposed granite and crushed rock), and only then roll out and seam the turf. Infill is brushed in to weight the blades upright, and the perimeter is anchored. A turf job that skips the base will ripple, hold water, and curl at the edges within a year.
We carry several turf grades - kid-and-dog friendly with shorter pile and higher density for high-traffic areas, taller and softer blades for showcase yards. We will bring samples to your site so you can see them in your own light, not under store fluorescents.
